I am super behind on my posts, but here is the next one. My brother and I were craving something chocolaty, and so to make it sound sort of healthy, I made these brownies with whole wheat flour. The cocoa powder that we had was not the best of the bunch, so when you use the recipe, use the good cocoa.
The good thing about making brownies with whole wheat is that no one will know the difference other than the chef. My brother engulfed these without any idea of my ingenious plan *evil laugh*. Okay, maybe not so ingenious, but it worked.
3/4 cup unsalted butter, room temp
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup cocoa
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baling powder
3/4 cup flour
- Preheat oven to 350F (I did 325F because my oven at home runs a bit hotter than usual)
- Cream together butter and sugar, add in eggs and vanilla
- Stir in cocoa, salt, and baking powder. Finally fold in the flour.
- Bake for about 40 minutes. Check at the 20 minute mark, brownies are done once a inserted toothpick come out clean, don’t over bake it!
