A week in Ontario

Last week was an awesome week.

K and I spent the last week on vacation, driving through Ontario, seeing old friends and eating goulash.

It was amazing!

We visited K’s old hood, Windsor Ontario.  Attended a beautiful wedding in Ingersoll Ontario.  Ate at Chef Susur Lee’s reataurant in Toronto.  Rode on the Maid of the Mist in Niagara Falls.

Oh.  And we ate a lot of goulash and schnitzels.

See? I told you it was an amazing trip.  I didn’t lie.

A week in San Francisco

Yep, we were there.

No big Deal.

Actually, it was a big deal.  I’ve always wanted to go to San Francisco, and the dream finally came true last week.  I also visited the city with 2 of the coolest people in this world – Angeli and K 🙂

San Francisco is an amazing city.  Super hilly.  Super Windy.  Super Awesome.

The three of us have already started to plan for our 2nd trip there.

We walked around town for 4 days, ate continuously and shared tons of laughs.

Here are some photos that we took along the way:

We <3 Hong Kong!

And we’re back!

After spending 1 1/2 weeks half way across the world, we have arrived home, safe and sound.

Our trip was amazing!  Sadly, We didn’t see Jackie Chan, but we had a lot of fun!  And I ate a ton of food!  Enough said.

I think we might have left our hearts in Hong Kong…

It is such a beautiful city.  It is filled with amazing people and it’s basically heaven on earth for dedicated food lovers around the world.

On a side note: Is it me, or is that fish smiling?

Anyways…

Hong Kong is amazing.  We loved it.  We loved it so much that we’ve been considering the possibility of moving there.

If you’re ever in Asia,  you know… chilling out, slurping on noodles and munching on BBQ pork.  You should definitely pay Hong Kong a visit. You’ll love it there!

Heli Tour – Kananaskis Country

Last week was a big week.  It was K’s 26th birthday week!

Yep.  He is 26.

He is officially an old fart.

And as a celebration of his new age, I decided to take him on a helicopter tour in one of his favorite places in the world.  The Rocky Mountains.

This is us, getting ready for take off.  I was so nervous, I wanted my mommy and I wanted to pee my pants. Too many mixed feelings, happening simultaneously in my head.

Flying into Kananaskis Country.  The scenery was breathtaking.

Just flying over mountain tops.  No big deal…

I wish we had more pictures to share with you, but the ride was actually quite turbulent, and so instead of taking pictures, I was busy screaming and constricting my urinary sphincters.  Too much information?…Never

Anyways, it was an awesome trip.  The scenery was unbelievable.  I would recommend it to anyone who is not afraid of heights and has 100% confidence in their urinary system.

Happy birthday Mr. K!

Weekend Adventure – Edmonton

K and I went on a mini 2-day vacation this past weekend.  We drove from the -20°C Calgary, to the – 30°C Edmonton…

Just for the record.  We’re not crazy…  I think.

An overview of our exciting trip to the fair city of Edmonton can be found in the list below:

  • K driving on terrible winter roads, while I scream periodically from the passenger seat

“AHHHH, we’re gonna DIE!”
“I can’t see a thing out these windows, WE’RE GONNA DIE!”
“HUNNY, WATCH OUT for that MOOSE!!!…… oh, nevermind, it was just another car….”
“BAHHH…We’re gonna die.”

…It was a lovely drive…

  • Munching continuously on BBQ Fritos to stop me from having anxiety attacks as we passed cars that were flipped over on the side of the road
  • Arriving in Edmonton.  Safe and sound.
  • Inhaling KFC by the pounds.  To celebrate the fact that we’re still alive
  • Ordering room service.  To celebrate the fact that we’re alive and on vacation
  • Receiving chocolate chip cookies, ordered and delivered to our hotel by our good friend Wang
  • Watching the Food Network in bed while eating cheese and crackers
  • Brunch. There was steak involved. Enough said.
  • Lunch.  Not immediately after brunch, but closely following.
  • Hanging out with Wang, who is probably one of the most amazing, thoughtful, fantastic, phenomenal people I know.
  • Driving back to Calgary.  Please refer to points 1 and 2.

As you have probably guessed, it was an awesome trip.  I actually really enjoyed visiting Edmonton and we plan to go back when the weather turns a little sunnier….which by the looks of it, will be in August 2057.
